How it works

Three steps and you were doing two of them anyway. One, get your price and send the phone in the free tracked pack we post you. Two, at the end of the form, pick a charity and how much of the money goes to them: any share you like, up to all of it. Three, we pay it and email you the amount and the date it went.

There is no separate scheme to join and nothing extra to post. The phone is checked, wiped and paid for exactly as it would have been, and the only difference is where some or all of the money lands.

Where the money goes

The charity gets money, not a phone. Nobody hands a charity a second hand handset to deal with. You choose a share of what we pay you, and we send that exact amount to one of the charities below. We take nothing out of it for handling and we do not round it down.

The list changes from time to time. It is kept in one place and this page reads it, so what you see here is what a customer can actually choose today.

What about my data?

Sign out of iCloud and erase the phone before you send it, and we will tell you how in the confirmation email. Every device is wiped to industry standard when it reaches us regardless, before anything else happens to it.

One safety rule

Never post a phone with a swollen or leaking battery. It is not safe for the postal network. Get in touch instead and we will help you find a safe local drop off.

What if it will not power on at all?

Then we cannot buy it, and we no longer run a scheme for those either. A phone that will not switch on cannot be graded or wiped, so any price we offered would be a guess. Your best route is your council’s recycling centre or an Apple store, both of which take them free. If one reaches us anyway, we post it back to you free of charge and ask first whether you would rather we passed it on.
