Terms of service.
Last updated 22 September 2026. Numbered so both of us can point at one.
- Your price is locked for 10 days from ordering, and holds if the phone matches your answers.
- Nothing is final until the phone has passed our tests and you have been paid. Change your mind before then, free.
- If it is not as described you get a revised offer with the reason, or the phone back free. Silence for 7 days counts as a yes.
- You must own the phone outright, and it must switch on.
- Find My still on? We hold it 14 days so you can remove it.
1. Who we are
ReMint is a trading name of iMint Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16681436), whose registered office is 2 Toomers Wharf, Canal Walk, Newbury, Berkshire, RG14 1DY. You can reach us at hello@remint.uk, and these terms cover selling your device to us through remint.uk. How we use your personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
2. Your quote
Your online price is based on your answers and is locked for 10 days. Prices move with the market, so a new quote after that may differ. If your device reaches us after your quote has expired, we requote it at the current price and you decide as normal. You must own the device outright: nothing left to pay on it under a network contract, a finance agreement or an instalment plan. A device with payments still to make cannot be sold to us until the last payment has cleared, because the lender or network can block it later. You must also be 18 or over, or have a parent or guardian complete the sale.
3. When the deal becomes a deal
Placing an order is you offering to sell to us at the quoted price, subject to inspection. Our contract starts when we email your order confirmation. Nothing is final until your device has passed inspection and you have been paid: until then, either of us can still walk away as these terms describe.
4. Changing your mind
You can cancel free of charge at any time before your device reaches us: just reply to any of our emails or tell us from your account. If nothing arrives within two weeks of your pack going out, we close the order ourselves and nothing is owed either way. After your device arrives, the inspection clause takes over, and a free return is always one of your options.
5. Condition grades
We use three grades, and they decide your price.
Working: the device shows signs of use but has no chips, cracks or functional problems, and battery health is above 80 percent.
Faulty or damaged, screen fine: it powers on and the original display works perfectly, even if the glass is cracked or chipped on the front or the back. There may be physical damage elsewhere or battery health below 80 percent.
Faulty or damaged, screen bad: the display itself has a fault, such as bleeding, lines, blank patches, flickering or unresponsive touch, or the original screen has been replaced with a non original part.
Not sure of your battery health? Say so when you order. We test it here, and the price stands if it reads 80 percent or above.
If your device arrives not matching the grade you chose, we do not quietly cut the payment. We send a revised offer and you decide.
6. Posting your device
Loss in the post. We send every trade-in on a tracked Royal Mail service with compensation cover, and we pay for it. Where you send more than one phone in a single pack, the pack travels under one tracking number with cover for the whole pack. In the rare event a phone does not reach us, we raise a claim with Royal Mail. Your payment for a lost phone follows that claim: once Royal Mail settles it and reimburses us, we pay you the agreed price. We will keep you posted while the claim is open, which Royal Mail normally resolves within 30 days. Please keep your free proof of posting receipt, as it supports the claim. Compensation is subject to the carrier’s conditions, including correct packaging.
Postage is free and tracked, and we give you packaging guidance. Never post a device with a swollen or leaking battery. It is not safe for the postal network. Switch off Find My and remove your SIM before sending.
7. Inspection and your offer
We inspect within one working day of arrival. If the device matches your answers, you are paid the quoted price. If it does not, you get a revised offer with an explanation, and you can accept it or have the device returned. Returns are always free, whichever you decide. If we hear nothing for 7 days after a revised offer, we treat that as acceptance.
8. Checks, and devices we cannot buy
Every device is tested on arrival, and its history is checked against industry loss, theft and finance databases. A device that fails those checks cannot be bought and cannot be returned to you on your word alone, because it may belong to somebody else. We tell you the same day, we pass the details to the police where the law requires, and we hold the device for 90 days. To have it returned, show us a police reference or the network’s written confirmation that the block has been lifted, and we return it free of charge. If 90 days pass with nothing, the device is destroyed rather than sold. A device still subject to a network’s financial interest, such as one inside the early months of a network contract, may be held or returned. Brand new sealed devices may be held briefly for additional ownership checks.
We do not quote for devices that will not power on, and if one reaches us we return it to you free of charge. Devices with Activation Lock still on are held for 14 days so you can remove it. Counterfeit devices cannot be returned where the law prohibits it.
9. Proof of ownership
Where our checks raise a question about a device, we may ask you for proof of ownership before paying.
10. Payment
We pay by bank transfer within 48 hours of your device arriving with us, counted Monday to Friday (or, if we send you a revised offer, within 48 hours of you accepting it), and in any event within 7 business days of acceptance. Please make sure your account details are right. If a payment fails because the details were wrong, we hold your money and you can claim it for 12 months; we will try to reach you in the meantime.
11. If a device turns out not to be yours
If, after we have paid you, a device is shown to be lost, stolen or otherwise not yours to sell, you agree to repay us in full when we ask. We may also set that amount off against anything else we owe you, and we cooperate with the police where the law requires.
12. If we cannot identify your device
A device that arrives with nothing matching it to an order is held for 90 days while we try to identify the sender. After that it is responsibly recycled.
13. Things you send that we did not ask for
Please send the device and nothing else. SIM cards, memory cards, cases, chargers and boxes cannot be returned and are responsibly recycled; a SIM card left in a device stays your responsibility, including any charges on it, until the network cancels it.
14. Selling in volume
ReMint is a consumer service. If you regularly send multiple devices, we may treat that as trade and direct you to our trade channel, where volume sellers get proper trade terms.
15. Ownership and your data
Ownership passes to us when you are paid. Your data is erased in line with our privacy policy and recognised industry standards, with a record of the erasure kept against your order. Please back up anything you want to keep and sign out of your accounts before posting: once a device is erased its contents cannot be recovered, and we are not responsible for data left on a device you send us.
16. Our responsibility to you
If we get something wrong, our liability to you is limited to the quoted price of your device. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.
17. Events outside our control
If something outside our reasonable control, such as a postal strike or a power cut, delays us, we will put it right as soon as we reasonably can, and our time promises pause until it is over.
18. How we contact you
We contact you by email at the address on your order, and by text if you gave us a number, so please keep them current and check your spam folder: time limits in these terms, such as the 7 days after a revised offer, run from when we send a message to the details you gave us.
19. Complaints
If something goes wrong, email hello@remint.uk with your order reference. We acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and aim to resolve them within 14 days. If you are unhappy with our answer, the Citizens Advice consumer service can advise you on your rights.
20. Fair use of this site
Our prices are public so that people can see what their phone is worth. Automated extraction of data from this site for commercial purposes is not permitted without our written agreement, except by licensed price comparison services.
21. The boring but necessary bit
We may update these terms from time to time; the version on the site when you place your order is the one that applies to it. If any clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stand. We may transfer this agreement to another business that takes on our obligations; you may not transfer yours without our written consent. Nobody other than you and us can enforce these terms. If we let something slide once, that is kindness, not a waiver: the term still applies. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute goes to the courts of England and Wales, or the courts of your home nation if you live elsewhere in the UK.
