Put another way: cracked glass over a perfect picture costs a Galaxy S24 little, while lines, burn-in or a black screen leave it well over half of what a working 128 GB pays.

About the Galaxy S24

Smaller than the + and the Ultra, the Galaxy S24 is the standard model of the S24 range. A broken one is still a phone the trade wants, and the price list shows it.

Two years on, the Galaxy S24 is in the part of its life where most people upgrade, and where a crack or a dead screen often decides it. It still sells well to the trade, working or not, as long as it switches on.

Sure it is this one?

Open Settings, then About phone. The name is at the top (Galaxy S24) and the model number under it: a Galaxy S24 starts SM-S921, with a letter after it for the region, like SM-S921B for a UK phone. Storage is under Settings, Battery and device care, Storage.

Questions about selling your Galaxy S24

Do you buy a Galaxy S24 with screen burn-in?

We do, at the Screen broken price, up to £92 for a 512 GB. Open a plain grey picture full screen: if a ghost of the keyboard or the clock shows through, that is burn-in, and only a new panel cures it.

Do I need to remove my Google account?

You do, and your Samsung account too. Google's Factory Reset Protection locks a reset phone to the last account on it, which stops us testing, wiping or paying. Settings, Accounts and backup, Manage accounts does it in a minute; with a dead screen, sign the phone out of your Google account from a computer instead.

My fingerprint reader stopped working after the crack. Which grade?

If the picture is still perfect, Not perfect, screen works. A fingerprint reader or face unlock that has stopped working is a fault, but it says nothing about the screen, so it is not Screen broken.

The screen was replaced. Does that matter?

An original screen, or a genuine Samsung Service Pack replacement, counts as original. An aftermarket or OLED copy screen, however good it looks, is priced as Screen broken. Samsung shows no message for a replaced screen, so we check it on arrival: if it is not original we send a revised offer you can accept, or we post the phone back free.

How fast do I get paid?

Within two working days of it reaching us, straight to your bank. The quote holds for ten days from your order, and a phone that tests differently gets a revised offer you can turn down for a free return.
