A 128 GB Galaxy S22+ with a cracked screen that still shows a perfect picture is £35. With lines, burn-in or a black screen it is £25. A smashed screen takes less off than most people expect: it has to switch on, and that is about it.

Condition

What counts as Screen broken

  • Lines, blots, burn-in, dead pixels, a green or pink tint, or a black screen
  • Touch that does not respond, or works only in places
  • An aftermarket or OLED copy replacement screen
  • Smashed glass, cameras, fingerprint or buttons broken too
  • Any battery health
  • Will not switch on or charge: we cannot buy it
  • A swollen battery: not safe to post

Our bench checks every phone against the grade you chose. If it does not match, you get a revised price to accept or decline, with a free return either way.

Storage

  • Paid by bank transfer within 48 hours of it arriving, Monday to Friday
  • Post it today at any Post Office: any box, no printer, no pack
  • Say no to a revised offer and it comes back free
  • Excellent on Trustpilot, read the reviews

The picture decides the grade: cracked glass over a perfect picture is Not perfect, screen works; lines, burn-in, dead pixels, a tint, touch faults, a black screen or an aftermarket screen is Screen broken. Hidden faults, battery to fingerprint, are accepted in both.

Every figure is today’s price list, the same one the quote reads.

On today's list a 128 GB Galaxy S22+ with the screen gone keeps well over half of its working price, and one with cracked glass over a good picture keeps most of it.

Where the Galaxy S22+ sits

Bigger than the standard S22, smaller than the Ultra, no pen: that is the Galaxy S22+. On the trade lists it sits a whisker above the standard model, often level with it, because buyers want the same parts from both.

The S22 range is one of the oldest we buy. A Galaxy S22+ that switches on still has value in its board, battery and cameras, which is why we buy it cracked or with the picture gone rather than turning it away.

Sure it is this one?

Open Settings, then About phone. The name is at the top (Galaxy S22+) and the model number under it: a Galaxy S22+ starts SM-S906, with a letter after it for the region, like SM-S906B for a UK phone. Storage is under Settings, Battery and device care, Storage.

Screen broken on a Galaxy: what counts

Lines, blots, dead pixels, a green or pink tint, touch that does not respond, a black screen that still rings, burn-in (a ghost of the keyboard, navigation bar or clock that stays on screen), or an aftermarket or OLED copy screen. All of them are Screen broken, up to £25 for a 128 GB. An original screen, or a genuine Samsung Service Pack replacement, counts as original, and cracked glass over a perfect picture is the better grade, Not perfect, screen works. Samsung shows no message for a replaced screen, so we check it on arrival: if it is not original we send a revised offer you can accept, or we post the phone back free. It has to switch on and charge, and it must not be blacklisted or still signed in to a Google or Samsung account.

Questions about selling a broken Galaxy S22+

Do you buy a Galaxy S22+ with screen burn-in?

Yes, and it is one of the commonest faults on an older Galaxy. A ghost of the navigation bar or keyboard that never goes away counts as Screen broken, which pays up to £25 for a 128 GB that still switches on.

Do I need to remove my Google account?

You do, and your Samsung account too. Google's Factory Reset Protection locks a reset phone to the last account on it, which stops us testing, wiping or paying. Settings, Accounts and backup, Manage accounts does it in a minute; with a dead screen, sign the phone out of your Google account from a computer instead.

My fingerprint reader stopped working after the crack. Which grade?

Not perfect, screen works, as long as the picture is clean. The reader sits under the display, so a crack often kills it, but a dead reader alone does not make the screen broken.

The screen was replaced. Does that matter?

A genuine Samsung Service Pack screen is treated exactly like the original. A copy screen, OLED or otherwise, prices as Screen broken. We check every screen when it lands and tell you before anything changes: take the new offer or have it back free.

How fast do I get paid?

By bank transfer within 48 hours of your phone arriving, Monday to Friday. Your price is locked for 10 days, and if our test disagrees with your description we tell you why and you can take the new offer or have it posted back free.
