Sell your iPhone 12 mini
64 GB.

The 64 GB is the smallest iPhone 12 mini Apple sold, so this is the bottom of the range for this phone. Every larger size is worth more. All three prices below are for the 64 GB and confirmed before you post anything.

iPhone 12 mini, November 2020, 5.4 inch Super Retina XDR OLED. This page is the 64 GB one.

Is the 64 GB worth checking?

Working, the 128 GB pays the same and the 256 GB pays the same. At the same capacity, the iPhone SE (2020) pays £11 less and the iPhone 12 pays £25 more.

With cracked glass and a good picture the same 64 GB is £18, and with a bad LCD or a replacement screen it is £5, so the cracked glass costs you £1 at this size rather than the whole value of the phone.

The same 64 GB in the models either side: iPhone SE (2020) 64 GB, iPhone 12 64 GB.

If Settings, General, About shows a Capacity other than 64 GB, use one of these instead: 128 GB, 256 GB.

What 64 GB actually holds

Less than the box implies, and more than its reputation. iOS and its bundled apps claim the first slice, call it 10 to 15 GB, which leaves you roughly 50 GB of real space. In everyday terms that is somewhere around 16,000 photos at a rough 3 MB each, or getting on for 14 hours of 1080p video using the 60 MB a minute that iOS itself estimates on its Record Video settings screen. Shoot 4K instead and it drops to under five hours. Apps are the wildcard: most take tens of megabytes, but one big game can swallow several gigabytes, and at this size you feel every one of them.

The practical point for a seller is the backup, because a 64 GB phone that has been somebody's daily phone for years is nearly always brimming. Move everything off before you erase it, and allow proper time for the transfer if the phone has spent months telling you it is full. How full it is makes no difference to the price: loaded or empty, it gets the same wipe and the same money.

What the 128 GB would have paid

At Working grade the 128 GB version of this phone pays £0 more than the 64 GB. Storage is the one part of an iPhone that can never be upgraded afterwards, so the used market does price it, but modestly on a phone of this age: both sizes are competing with the same alternative, which is the buyer putting the difference towards something newer, and newness usually wins that argument.

None of it is something you can change now, and the grade moves this price a lot further than the size does. Being straight about the screen and the battery matters more to your final figure than wishing the phone were bigger ever could.

The common one

Entry sizes are what shops stock and what upgrade deals default to, so 64 GB dominates the second hand supply of the iPhone 12 mini the way it dominated the original sales. Common is good news when you are the seller: the market for it is the deepest, it is the easiest version for us to sell on, and a phone that moves quickly is a phone we can pay for with confidence rather than caution. A deep market is a steady one too, which is part of why the figure above can sit locked for ten days without us flinching. One ten second check before you trust this page: nothing smaller than 64 GB exists in the iPhone 12 mini range, so if Settings, General, About shows 32 GB, you are holding an older model and need a different page.

Worth knowing before you send it

The battery. The 12 mini has the smallest battery of any iPhone of its era, and a small battery does more full charge cycles per year than a big one, so it ages faster in real use than the calendar suggests.

Is this the iPhone 12 mini you have?

5.4 inches, flat sides, and two rear cameras stacked one directly above the other. The 13 mini is the same size but its two lenses sit diagonally. That angle is the whole visible difference between the two.

The 64 GB question

What is an iPhone 12 mini 64 GB worth right now?

The size half of it is settled by the page you are on: the 64 GB is the bottom rung of this model's ladder, and every larger size pays more. Everything after that is condition. Glass and picture are graded separately here, so a cracked 64 GB whose picture is still perfect prices in the middle rather than at the bottom, and only a display faulty in itself goes lower. A battery under 80 per cent lands in that same middle grade. Whichever of the three figures above turns out to be yours is locked for 10 days once you order.

Cracked screens, battery health, Find My and how fast you are paid are answered on the iPhone 12 mini page.
