iPhone 12 Pro 128GB, Face ID failed, picture perfect: £73 against £74 working, 6 October 2026.

Selling a cracked or broken iPhone 12 Pro? A cracked iPhone with a good screen is Picture fine. A broken screen, lines, blotches or a replacement display, is Picture faulty. A smashed one with a cracked back or Face ID not working can be either; a phone that won't charge is one we cannot buy.

The iPhone 12 Pro went on sale in October 2020 with a 6.1 inch OLED screen, which makes it about 6 years old. Most sites have stopped looking properly at a phone this age, and at a broken one they barely look at all. We still do. Get your price in a minute and post it free.

What we know about the iPhone 12 Pro

The first iPhone with a LiDAR scanner on the back, which is a part with a second life of its own.

The same no sound service programme Apple announced for the iPhone 12 covers the 12 Pro, for units built between October 2020 and April 2021. A phone with that fault is still a phone we want.

Is this the phone you have?

Three rear cameras on a 6.1 inch flat sided phone, with a small dark circle beside them: that circle is the LiDAR scanner and the plain 12 does not have one. The 12 Pro Max is the same arrangement at 6.7 inches.

If the screen has gone

The iPhone 12 Pro has a 6.1 inch Super Retina XDR OLED. A broken one is not scrap. The board, the cameras and the battery are untouched, and the panel itself is a part another iPhone 12 Pro needs.

With the picture still good, a cracked one runs 128 GB £73, 256 GB £74 and 512 GB £74. If the display itself is damaged rather than the glass over it, a 128 GB is £32.

Once the picture itself has gone, a 128 GB still holds 43 per cent, a little below the middle of our range. What a broken iPhone 12 Pro is worth has the rest of the arithmetic.

Exact price for your size

This model came in 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. Nothing changes between them but capacity: the same 6.1 inch screen, the same cameras and the same battery in all three.

Working, this model runs 128 GB £74, 256 GB £84 and 512 GB £84. At 128 GB, the iPhone 12 pays £20 less and the iPhone 12 Pro Max pays £25 more.

Why sell your iPhone 12 Pro to ReMint?

An iPhone 12 Pro is worth more to somebody who repairs phones than to anybody who melts them down, and that is not an insult to it. Panels, batteries and cameras from this generation are still wanted, because plenty of these are still in daily use.

Free tracked postage, checked within a working day, paid within 48 hours of it arriving, erased to recognised standards with the record kept.

USING ITITS WHOLE LIFE86%spent making it86%spent making it

Making a phone is where the damage is. Not using it. Which is why the greenest phone is one that already exists.

Selling this phone keeps roughly 71 kg of CO2e worth of manufacturing in use.

Where this figure comes from

Apple publishes a lifecycle footprint of 82 kg CO2e for a 128GB iPhone 12 Pro, from mining the materials to recycling the phone. Apple states 86 per cent production. That share of 82 kg is 71 kg.

Keeping a working iPhone 12 Pro going displaces the manufacture of a new one, so we quote the 71 kg rather than the whole 82 kg. Charging it, shipping it and recycling it happen either way.

It says roughly because it assumes your iPhone 12 Pro replaces one that would otherwise have been built. Apple's 82 kg is for the 128GB model as published in October 2020, and a larger size carries a larger footprint.

For a sense of scale, that is the same quantity of CO2e as driving about 260 miles in an average car.

Apple, Product Environmental Report: iPhone 12 Pro, October 2020. Mileage at 0.26915 kg CO2e per mile, UK Government conversion factors 2025.

Questions people ask before selling

What is an iPhone 12 Pro worth right now?

The quote above answers it exactly, and two things move the number. Size counts here, so check yours in Settings, General, About. Then condition, and the glass and the picture count separately: cracked glass with a good picture underneath is our middle grade, and a fault in the picture itself is the bottom one. Ordering locks your price for 10 days.

What does my iPhone 12 Pro need to do for you to buy it?

It has to switch on, charge, and work. Under 80% battery is priced as Picture fine. Works fine: no cracks, everything works, battery 80% or above. Picture fine: LCD is good, front or back glass can be smashed, and Face ID, a camera, sound or a button can be broken. Picture faulty: bad LCD, or an aftermarket screen, with the same faults allowed.

What counts as Works fine for an iPhone 12 Pro?

An iPhone 12 Pro with whole glass, nothing wrong and a battery of at least 80 per cent. It earns the top figure above.

What counts as Picture fine for an iPhone 12 Pro?

The LCD is good: original screen, perfect picture, and the front or back glass can be smashed. A crack free phone with a battery under 80 per cent is priced here too. Face ID, a camera, sound or a button can be broken. Its price is the middle figure above.

What counts as Picture faulty for an iPhone 12 Pro?

Lines, bleeding, dead patches or ghost touch on the display, or a non original screen fitted. The phone must switch on and charge; a phone that will not is covered below.

My iPhone 12 Pro has a cracked screen. Do I get next to nothing for it?

You will not, as long as the picture underneath is perfect and it is still the original screen. The glass and the picture are graded separately: cracked glass on its own is "picture fine", because the picture is what that word means to us, and a cracked iPhone 12 Pro sits in our middle grade, not the scrap pile. The lower grade is for the picture itself being faulty, lines, blotches, blank patches, or a screen that ignores your finger, and for a non original replacement screen. A cracked back is graded exactly like a cracked front, so it does not drop you down either.

Does low battery health matter on an iPhone 12 Pro?

Less than you might fear. An iPhone 12 Pro still on its original battery is likely to be under 80 per cent health by now, and that alone does not stop us buying it. Below 80 per cent the phone counts as Picture fine rather than Working, and you see exactly what that pays before you post anything.

Can I sell an iPhone 12 Pro that is locked to a network?

Yes. Phones bought on contract before December 2021 are often still locked years later, and we buy them: a fixed amount, shown in pounds before you commit to anything, comes off the quote, which is what a locked phone costs us to deal with. You can keep that money, because the unlock is free from your own network: ask them, and it is usually done within a day or two. It has to be you who asks, as the account holder, which is why we cannot do it for you. Unlock it before you post the phone, answer unlocked, and the full price is yours. From the iPhone 13 onwards handsets are nearly always sold unlocked, so this is mostly a question for phones the age of the iPhone 12 Pro.

Do I need to switch off Find My before selling my iPhone 12 Pro?

Yes. Find My is Apple's Activation Lock, and a phone still carrying it cannot be erased or resold, so it must be off before we can pay you. Switch it off in Settings on the iPhone 12 Pro, or from iCloud.com after it has gone in the post. If it arrives still locked we hold it for 14 days so you can remove the lock, rather than sending it straight back.

What if my iPhone 12 Pro will not turn on?

No. We cannot check what is wrong with an iPhone 12 Pro that will not power on, or erase it to a standard we can certify, so any price would be a guess we had to take back later. Your council's recycling centre and any Apple store take it free, which is the right home for a phone nobody can price.

How fast will I be paid for my iPhone 12 Pro, and can the offer drop?

Inspection happens within one working day of arrival, and the money follows by bank transfer within 48 hours of the phone arriving. If the iPhone 12 Pro in front of us does not match what you told us, the price does not just shrink: we send a revised offer with an explanation, and you choose between taking it and having the phone back free.
