Sell an iPhone with lines or blank patches on the screen
Yes, ReMint buys iPhones with screen lines, blank patches and other display faults in the UK, as long as the phone still powers on. That covers the green or pink vertical lines that appear on some models, stuck pixels, dark blots or bleeding patches, ghost touch where the phone taps things by itself, and the frustrating strip of screen that no longer responds to your finger. It also covers a phone that had a replacement screen fitted at some point, even if that screen looks fine today. All of these fall into one grade on our calculator, and all of them still pay real money.
That grade is called Picture faulty, and it is for any phone where the picture itself is at fault. It is the lowest paying of our three grades, and the reason is simple: the display is the most expensive single part of an iPhone, so a phone that needs a new one costs the most to bring back to working order. What matters is that the rest of the phone keeps its value. The chassis, the cameras, the logic board and the storage are all still worth something, which is why a phone with a bad screen is worth selling rather than leaving in a drawer.
It helps to know what this grade is not. If the glass is cracked but the picture underneath is perfect, with no lines, no dark patches and touch working everywhere, that is Picture fine, which pays more. The test is the image, not the glass. Look at the phone on a plain white background and a plain black one, drag your finger slowly across the whole screen, and if everything looks and responds as it should, the screen counts as fine even under a spider web of cracks.
To grade it on our calculator, choose your model and storage, then pick Picture faulty if you see lines, blots, blank areas, ghost touch or any patch that ignores your touch, or if you know the screen has been replaced with a part that is not an original Apple display. A cracked back or a tired battery on the same phone changes nothing here, because picture faulty already covers any other fault. The price appears immediately, and you do not need to give us an email address to see it. Your quote is fixed for 10 days from the order and holds if the phone matches what you told us.
When the phone arrives we run it through our automated test and look at the screen ourselves, within one working day. If it matches your answers, we pay by bank transfer within 48 hours, Monday to Friday. If it does not, for example if the display turns out to be fine after all or if there is a fault you did not mention, we send a revised offer you can accept or decline, with a free return either way. Before you post it, turn off Find My iPhone and sign out of iCloud (Settings, your name at the top, Sign Out), and use the free tracked Royal Mail label or the QR code we send, which needs no printer.
