Is the 1 TB worth checking?

Working, the 256 GB pays £82 less and the 512 GB pays £48 less. At the same capacity, the iPhone Air pays £214 less and the iPhone 17 Pro Max pays £80 more.

Smash the glass on a 1 TB and keep the picture, and it still pays £554; lose the picture or fit a replacement screen and it is £352. The glass is worth £51 at this size.

The same 1 TB in the models either side: iPhone Air 1 TB, iPhone 17 Pro Max 1 TB.

If Settings, General, About shows a Capacity other than 1 TB, use one of these instead: 256 GB, 512 GB.

A terabyte, in human units

Call it 980 GB once iOS has taken its share. At the 170 MB a minute iOS quotes for 4K, that is roughly four days of continuous footage, and in photographs it is a number with no practical meaning, several hundred thousand of them. Which is the point of the size: a terabyte is not bought to be filled, it is bought so its owner never has to think about space again.

For the send, the advice is the same as for any big phone, only more so. Start the backup early, and use a cable rather than Wi-Fi if you can, because moving anywhere near a terabyte wirelessly is an overnight job at best. The erase at our end is the quick part. And before planning an overnight job at all, look at the iPhone Storage screen in Settings: it tells you how much of the terabyte ever got used, which on a size bought for peace of mind is often the smaller share.

The last step, and the smallest

Going from 512 GB to 1 TB cost roughly two hundred pounds at Apple's till. At Working grade the used gap on the iPhone 17 Pro is £48, which tells you how the second hand market really values headroom: generously at the sizes people fill, thinly at the sizes they do not.

Even so, this is the biggest number the model can earn, and no smaller size out earns it at any grade. If the screen has gone, say so plainly. A terabyte phone at the damaged grades is still serious money, and pretending otherwise only slows the payment down.

As rare as iPhones get

Hardly anybody specced a terabyte, so hardly any come back around, and that scarcity is a large part of why this page carries the highest figure on the iPhone 17 Pro. When we sell one on it is usually to somebody who has been waiting for exactly this configuration, which is the strongest position a used phone can be in. All we ask in return is the same ten second glance at the About screen as any other size, because at this money a misremembered capacity is worth catching before the postage pack goes in the post. It is also the ceiling: no bigger iPhone 17 Pro exists, so there is nothing above this page to go and check.

The iPhone 17 Pro in one paragraph

The Pro moved back to an aluminium body with this generation, having been titanium for two years.

Worth knowing before you send it

Nothing has emerged as a pattern on a phone this recent. What we can tell you is that its 6.3 inch 120 Hz display is one of the dearest parts in this whole list, which is precisely why a smashed 17 Pro is worth a proper price and not the scrap value other sites will quote you.

The 1 TB question

What is an iPhone 17 Pro 1 TB worth right now?

The size half of it is settled by the page you are on: the 1 TB is the top rung of this model's ladder, and nothing on this phone pays more. Everything after that is condition. Glass and picture are graded separately here, so a cracked 1 TB whose picture is still perfect prices in the middle rather than at the bottom, and only a display faulty in itself goes lower. A battery under 80 per cent lands in that same middle grade. Whichever of the three figures above turns out to be yours is locked for 10 days once you order.

Cracked screens, battery health, Find My and how fast you are paid are answered on the iPhone 17 Pro page.
