Sell your iPhone 17,
broken or not.
On 6 October 2026 ReMint pays £330 for a working iPhone 17 256GB, £306 if the glass is cracked and the picture is fine, and £201 if the picture is faulty. Price locked for 10 days. Bank transfer within 48 hours of arrival, Monday to Friday. Free return if you refuse a revised offer.
Prices updated 6 October 2026.
iPhone 17 256GB, Face ID failed, picture perfect: £306 against £330 working, 6 October 2026.
A cracked or broken iPhone 17 still sells. Cracked glass over a good screen is Picture fine; a bad LCD, with lines or blotches, or a replacement screen is Picture faulty. Face ID not working or a cracked back is allowed in both, though it has to switch on, and a iPhone 17 that won't charge cannot be bought.
The iPhone 17 went on sale in September 2025 with a 6.3 inch OLED screen, which makes it about a year old. On a phone this new the details set the price, so we ask about them before you post it rather than after it lands. Get your price in a minute and post it free.

Not sure which one is yours? Picture fine means the picture is perfect however the glass looks. Picture faulty means the display itself is faulty or has been replaced. Hidden faults, battery to Face ID, are accepted in both. Our three grades, explained properly.
Prices shown for 256 GB, the smallest this model came in. A working 512 GB pays £30 more.
What we know about the iPhone 17
The first non Pro iPhone with a 120 Hz screen, and the first base model to start at 256 GB.
Too recent for a pattern, and we are not going to guess at one. What is worth knowing is that its 120 Hz panel is a Pro grade part fitted to a phone that is not a Pro, so a broken 17 screen costs more to replace than a broken 16 screen and is worth more to us.
Is this the phone you have?
6.3 inches with two rear cameras. The 16 of the year before is the same two lenses on a 6.1 inch body, so this is the visibly larger of the pair, and the 17 Pro of the same year has three lenses rather than two.
If the screen has gone
The iPhone 17 has a 6.3 inch Super Retina XDR panel running at 120 Hz. A 120 Hz panel is expensive to replace, and most sites use that as their reason to treat a crack as a write off. We repair instead.
With the picture still good, a cracked one runs 256 GB £306 and 512 GB £308. If the display itself is damaged rather than the glass over it, a 256 GB is £201.
Once the picture itself has gone, a 256 GB still holds 61 per cent, one of the better ones on this site. What a broken iPhone 17 is worth has the rest of the arithmetic.
Exact price for your size
Two sizes only, and it starts at 256 GB. There is no 128 GB iPhone 17, so if yours says 128 GB it is an earlier model.
Working, this model runs 256 GB £330 and 512 GB £360. At 256 GB, the iPhone 17e pays £106 less and the iPhone Air pays £21 more.
Why sell your iPhone 17 to ReMint?
An iPhone 17 sits near the top of what we buy, and the resale value on one is high enough that we can pay properly even with the screen in pieces.
Free tracked postage, checked within a working day, paid within 48 hours of it arriving, erased to recognised standards with the record kept.
Making a phone is where the damage is. Not using it. Which is why the greenest phone is one that already exists.
Selling this phone keeps roughly 42 kg of CO2e worth of manufacturing in use.
Where this figure comes from
Apple publishes a lifecycle footprint of 55 kg CO2e for a 256GB iPhone 17, from mining the materials to recycling the phone. Apple splits production in two: manufacturing electricity at 53 per cent and materials and process emissions at 23 per cent, which add to 76 per cent. That share of 55 kg is 42 kg.
Keeping a working iPhone 17 going displaces the manufacture of a new one, so we quote the 42 kg rather than the whole 55 kg. Charging it, shipping it and recycling it happen either way.
It says roughly because it assumes your iPhone 17 replaces one that would otherwise have been built. Apple's 55 kg is for the 256GB model as published in September 2025, and a larger size carries a larger footprint.
For a sense of scale, that is the same quantity of CO2e as driving about 160 miles in an average car.
Apple, Product Environmental Report: iPhone 17, September 2025. Mileage at 0.26915 kg CO2e per mile, UK Government conversion factors 2025.
Questions people ask before selling
What is an iPhone 17 worth right now?
Size and condition, in that order. The sizes do not price the same on this model, so look yours up in Settings, General, About rather than guessing. Then condition, where the glass and the picture count separately: cracked glass with a perfect picture underneath is our middle grade (Picture fine), a faulty picture is our bottom grade, and battery health below 80 per cent goes in the middle grade too. The calculator on this page prices your exact combination, and once you order that price holds for 10 days.
What does my iPhone 17 need to do for you to buy it?
It has to switch on, charge, and work. Under 80% battery is priced as Picture fine. Works fine: no cracks, everything works, battery 80% or above. Picture fine: LCD is good, front or back glass can be smashed, and Face ID, a camera, sound or a button can be broken. Picture faulty: bad LCD, or an aftermarket screen, with the same faults allowed.
What counts as Works fine for an iPhone 17?
No cracks front or back, everything works, battery health 80 per cent or above. That is the full price for your size, shown at the top of this page.
What counts as Picture fine for an iPhone 17?
A smashed iPhone 17 with a good LCD, the original screen and a perfect picture, or a crack free one whose battery is under 80 per cent. Face ID, a camera, a speaker or a button can be broken. It usually keeps most of the working price.
What counts as Picture faulty for an iPhone 17?
The picture itself is wrong on this iPhone 17, or the screen is not original; Face ID, a camera or a button can be broken as well. That is our bottom grade, and it still pays real money because the rest of the phone keeps its value.
My iPhone 17 has a cracked screen. Do I get next to nothing for it?
Quite the opposite: a cracked iPhone 17 with a working picture is the exact phone this business was built to buy. Think of the glass and the picture as two separate things. Broken glass over a perfect picture is what we call "picture fine", which sounds odd until you know that screen there means the picture, not the glass. It is our middle grade rather than our bottom one. The bottom grade is for a display with a fault of its own, lines, blotches, blank patches, or touch that ignores your finger, and for a screen already swapped for a non original one. A cracked back sits in the same grade as a cracked front, and both figures are on the quote above.
Does low battery health matter on an iPhone 17?
Check Settings, Battery, but on a phone this new the answer is usually still 80 per cent or better, which leaves a crack free iPhone 17 in the Working grade. If yours has dipped below the line it counts as Picture fine instead, and you will see exactly what that pays before you commit to posting it.
Can I sell an iPhone 17 that is locked to a network?
You can: we buy network locked phones. Check the lock is really there first though, because it probably is not: selling locked handsets has been banned in the UK since December 2021, so phones from the iPhone 13 onwards, your iPhone 17 included, are nearly always unlocked already. If yours is locked, a fixed amount, shown in pounds before you commit to anything, comes off the quote. Or keep the whole price: ask your network to unlock it before you post it, which is free, usually done within a day or two, and something only the account holder can do, so we cannot do it for you. Not sure is still an honest answer in the quote flow; nothing comes off for it, and if the phone turns out to be locked we tell you before anything else happens.
Do I need to switch off Find My before selling my iPhone 17?
It has to come off, because Find My is Apple's Activation Lock and nobody can wipe or resell a phone that still has it switched on. Do it in Settings before you post the iPhone 17, or sign in at iCloud.com and remove the device afterwards. A phone that arrives locked is held for 14 days to give you time to sort it.
What if my iPhone 17 will not turn on?
No. We cannot check what is wrong with an iPhone 17 that will not power on, or erase it to a standard we can certify, so any price would be a guess we had to take back later. Your council's recycling centre and any Apple store take it free, which is the right home for a phone nobody can price.
How fast will I be paid for my iPhone 17, and can the offer drop?
We inspect within one working day of the phone arriving and pay by bank transfer within 48 hours of it arriving. If your iPhone 17 does not match your answers, we do not quietly cut the payment. You get a revised offer with the reason, and you can accept it or have the phone returned free of charge.
If you are still weighing it up
Three things people ask before selling a iPhone 17, answered properly rather than in a sentence.
- How to check your iPhone storage size Open Settings, General, About and read the Capacity line. That is your storage size: 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB. It takes ten seconds.
- How much is my iPhone worth in 2026? The honest maths behind iPhone prices this year, model by model, and what moves them.
- Our three grades, explained properly Working, picture fine, picture faulty. Which one is yours, and why the difference is all about the display.
