Prices updated 6 October 2026.
iPhone 17 Pro 256GB, Face ID failed, picture perfect: £501 against £523 working, 6 October 2026.
If your iPhone 17 Pro is smashed, the screen underneath decides: a good one is Picture fine, a bad LCD or a replacement screen is Picture faulty. A cracked back, cracked glass or Face ID not working is allowed in either. It must switch on and charge; one that won't charge we cannot take.
The iPhone 17 Pro went on sale in September 2025 with a 6.3 inch OLED screen, which makes it about a year old. On a phone this new the details set the price, so we ask about them before you post it rather than after it lands. Get your price in a minute and post it free.

Not sure which one is yours? Picture fine means the picture is perfect however the glass looks. Picture faulty means the display itself is faulty or has been replaced. Hidden faults, battery to Face ID, are accepted in both. Our three grades, explained properly.
Prices shown for 256 GB, the smallest this model came in. A working 1 TB pays £82 more.
What we know about the iPhone 17 Pro
The Pro moved back to an aluminium body with this generation, having been titanium for two years.
Nothing has emerged as a pattern on a phone this recent. What we can tell you is that its 6.3 inch 120 Hz display is one of the dearest parts in this whole list, which is precisely why a smashed 17 Pro is worth a proper price and not the scrap value other sites will quote you.
Is this the phone you have?
6.3 inches, three rear cameras, and an aluminium body after two years of titanium Pros. The plain 17 is the same screen size with two lenses. The 17 Pro Max is this phone at 6.9 inches.
If the screen has gone
The iPhone 17 Pro has a 6.3 inch Super Retina XDR panel running at 120 Hz. A 120 Hz panel is expensive to replace, and most sites use that as their reason to treat a crack as a write off. We repair instead.
With the picture still good, a cracked one runs 256 GB £501, 512 GB £501 and 1 TB £554. If the display itself is damaged rather than the glass over it, a 256 GB is £288.
A faulty display leaves 55 per cent of the working price on a 256 GB, a little below the middle of our range. What a broken iPhone 17 Pro is worth goes through every capacity.
Exact price for your size
It starts at 256 GB. There is no 128 GB version of this phone.
Working, this model runs 256 GB £523, 512 GB £557 and 1 TB £605. At 256 GB, the iPhone Air pays £172 less and the iPhone 17 Pro Max pays £83 more.
Why sell your iPhone 17 Pro to ReMint?
An iPhone 17 Pro sits near the top of what we buy, and the resale value on one is high enough that we can pay properly even with the screen in pieces.
Free tracked postage, checked within a working day, paid within 48 hours of it arriving, erased to recognised standards with the record kept.
Making a phone is where the damage is. Not using it. Which is why the greenest phone is one that already exists.
Selling this phone keeps roughly 48 kg of CO2e worth of manufacturing in use.
Where this figure comes from
Apple publishes a lifecycle footprint of 64 kg CO2e for a 256GB iPhone 17 Pro, from mining the materials to recycling the phone. Apple splits production in two: manufacturing electricity at 50 per cent and materials and process emissions at 25 per cent, which add to 75 per cent. That share of 64 kg is 48 kg.
Keeping a working iPhone 17 Pro going displaces the manufacture of a new one, so we quote the 48 kg rather than the whole 64 kg. Charging it, shipping it and recycling it happen either way.
It says roughly because it assumes your iPhone 17 Pro replaces one that would otherwise have been built. Apple's 64 kg is for the 256GB model as published in September 2025, and a larger size carries a larger footprint.
For a sense of scale, that is the same quantity of CO2e as driving about 180 miles in an average car.
Apple, Product Environmental Report: iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, September 2025. Mileage at 0.26915 kg CO2e per mile, UK Government conversion factors 2025.
Questions people ask before selling
What is an iPhone 17 Pro worth right now?
Size and condition, in that order. The sizes do not price the same on this model, so look yours up in Settings, General, About rather than guessing. Then condition, where the glass and the picture count separately: cracked glass with a perfect picture underneath is our middle grade (Picture fine), a faulty picture is our bottom grade, and battery health below 80 per cent goes in the middle grade too. The calculator on this page prices your exact combination, and once you order that price holds for 10 days.
What does my iPhone 17 Pro need to do for you to buy it?
It has to switch on, charge, and work. Under 80% battery is priced as Picture fine. Works fine: no cracks, everything works, battery 80% or above. Picture fine: LCD is good, front or back glass can be smashed, and Face ID, a camera, sound or a button can be broken. Picture faulty: bad LCD, or an aftermarket screen, with the same faults allowed.
What counts as Works fine for an iPhone 17 Pro?
Everything works, nothing is cracked and the battery reads 80 per cent or more. Your size's full price is at the head of this page.
What counts as Picture fine for an iPhone 17 Pro?
Cracked glass on the front or a cracked back is fine as long as the original LCD shows a clean image; so is a battery under 80 per cent on a phone with no cracks. Face ID, a camera, sound or a button can also be broken.
What counts as Picture faulty for an iPhone 17 Pro?
The picture itself is wrong on this iPhone 17 Pro, or the screen is not original; Face ID, a camera or a button can be broken as well. That is our bottom grade, and it still pays real money because the rest of the phone keeps its value.
My iPhone 17 Pro has a cracked screen. Do I get next to nothing for it?
No, and this is the thing we do differently. Your phone has two layers: the glass on top, and the picture underneath it. If the glass is cracked but the picture is still perfect, we call that "picture fine", because the part that shows you things is fine. That is our middle grade, not our bottom one, and a cracked iPhone 17 Pro with a perfect picture prices there. The bottom grade is for a fault in the picture itself: lines, blotches, blank patches, touch that does not respond, or a screen somebody has already replaced with a non original part. A cracked back counts the same as a cracked front. The quote on this page prices every grade.
Does low battery health matter on an iPhone 17 Pro?
Check Settings, Battery, but on a phone this new the answer is usually still 80 per cent or better, which leaves a crack free iPhone 17 Pro in the Working grade. If yours has dipped below the line it counts as Picture fine instead, and you will see exactly what that pays before you commit to posting it.
Can I sell an iPhone 17 Pro that is locked to a network?
Yes, though odds are you do not need to worry at all: UK networks were banned from selling locked handsets in December 2021, so an iPhone 17 Pro bought new here, like nearly every phone from the iPhone 13 onwards, is almost certainly unlocked already. If yours really is locked we still buy it, and a fixed amount, shown in pounds before you commit to anything, comes off the quote, which is what a locked phone costs us to deal with. The free route is better: your network must unlock it at no charge when you ask, usually within a day or two, and only you can ask, because you are the account holder. Do that before you post it, answer unlocked, and the full price is yours.
Do I need to switch off Find My before selling my iPhone 17 Pro?
Find My must be switched off before we can buy the iPhone 17 Pro: it is Apple's Activation Lock, and a locked phone cannot be erased to standard or sold on. Settings does it while the phone is with you, and iCloud.com does it once it is posted. Arrive locked and we hold the phone for 14 days so you have the chance to remove it.
What if my iPhone 17 Pro will not turn on?
We do not quote for one, for a reason we would rather say plainly: a phone that will not power on cannot be tested, and it cannot be verifiably erased, which means it would leave here carrying your data. Your council's recycling centre or an Apple store will take it, both free of charge.
How fast will I be paid for my iPhone 17 Pro, and can the offer drop?
Inspection happens within one working day of arrival, and the money follows by bank transfer within 48 hours of the phone arriving. If the iPhone 17 Pro in front of us does not match what you told us, the price does not just shrink: we send a revised offer with an explanation, and you choose between taking it and having the phone back free.
If you are still weighing it up
Three things people ask before selling a iPhone 17 Pro, answered properly rather than in a sentence.
- How to check your iPhone storage size Open Settings, General, About and read the Capacity line. That is your storage size: 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB. It takes ten seconds.
- Trade in or sell? What Apple and the networks do not mention Trade-in is convenient. It is also usually the lowest offer in the room. Here is the honest comparison.
- Our three grades, explained properly Working, picture fine, picture faulty. Which one is yours, and why the difference is all about the display.
