Not sure which one is yours? Picture fine means the picture is perfect however the glass looks. Picture faulty means the display itself is faulty or has been replaced. Hidden faults, battery to Face ID, are accepted in both. Our three grades, explained properly.
Is the 256 GB worth checking?
Working, the 64 GB pays £2 less and the 128 GB pays the same. At the same capacity, the iPhone 11 Pro Max pays £59 more and the iPhone 12 mini pays £9 more.
Smash the glass on a 256 GB and keep the picture, and it still pays £8; lose the picture or fit a replacement screen and it is £5. The glass is worth £2 at this size.
The same 256 GB in the models either side: iPhone 11 Pro Max 256 GB, iPhone 12 mini 256 GB.
If Settings, General, About shows a Capacity other than 256 GB, use one of these instead: 64 GB, 128 GB.
256 GB, translated into things you own
After the operating system takes its cut you are looking at roughly 230 GB of usable room. Filling that takes commitment: about 22 hours of 4K footage at Apple's estimated 170 MB a minute, or a photo library well past seventy thousand pictures. Apps stop being part of the sum altogether, since even a heavy handful of games disappears into headroom like this. Plenty of 256 GB phones go their whole first life without coming near the ceiling.
Where the size does bite is on sending day. If yours actually is loaded, budget hours rather than minutes for the backup: a couple of hundred gigabytes over home Wi-Fi is a slow crawl, so set it going when the postage pack arrives rather than when you want to head to the post office.
Why nothing on this model pays more
At Working grade this page sits £0 above the 128 GB, and it is the end of the ladder: no configuration of the iPhone SE (2020) pays more than this one. Apple charged about a hundred pounds for that step when the phone was new. The used gap is slimmer because a buyer of a phone this age is paying for the phone itself, and 256 GB of headroom is more than most of them will ever touch.
The premium survives at Picture fine and Picture faulty too, scaled down, so the size is worth stating exactly whatever condition the phone is in.
Bought on purpose
Nobody drifted into a 256 GB iPhone SE (2020). It cost meaningfully more at the till, and the people who paid that mostly knew why. Used, the same logic holds: fewer of them about than the entry size, and a steady supply of buyers who specifically want the room, which keeps its premium honest rather than hopeful. Do glance at the About screen before settling on this page, because a memory of which size you bought years ago is less reliable than the Capacity line is. And 256 GB is where this model's range stops: nothing bigger was made, so a listing above it is describing a different phone.
The iPhone SE (2020) in one paragraph
It uses the iPhone 8 body, screen and home button, which is a genuine advantage when it is broken: those parts are everywhere and cost very little, so a smashed SE (2020) is worth having.
Worth knowing before you send it
It is a small phone with a small battery, and small batteries wear out sooner because they are charged more often.
iPhone SE (2020) prices by size
| Size | Working | Faulty / Damaged - Screen Fine | Faulty / Damaged - Screen Bad |
|---|---|---|---|
| 64 GB | £8 | £7 | £5 |

| 256 GB this page | £10 | £8 | £5 |
£10 is locked for 10 days. Postage and the postage pack are free, and a phone that does not match its grade gets a revised offer you can turn down.

The 256 GB question
What is an iPhone SE (2020) 256 GB worth right now?
The size half of it is settled by the page you are on: the 256 GB is the top rung of this model's ladder, and nothing on this phone pays more. Condition does the rest, and we judge the glass and the picture apart from each other: cracked glass, or battery health below 80 per cent, is our middle grade, and a fault in the picture itself is the bottom one. The three figures at the top of this page are all for the 256 GB, and whichever one you order at holds for 10 days.
Cracked screens, battery health, Find My and how fast you are paid are answered on the iPhone SE (2020) page.
