Not this one, and here is why

We have stopped buying the iPhone X.

The iPhone X is a good phone that has simply aged out of what we can pay for. It is about 9 years old now. What one fetches today barely covers the postage, the testing and the erasing, so any number we put on it would be an insult dressed up as an offer. We would rather say that than quote you two pounds.

Which phone this is

The iPhone X went on sale in November 2017. It has a 5.8 inch OLED screen and came in 64 GB and 256 GB.

The first iPhone with an OLED screen and the first without a home button, which is why a heavily used one sometimes shows a faint ghost of the keyboard or the status bar.

Apple announced a display module replacement programme for the iPhone X: on some units the screen stops responding to touch, or reacts when nothing is touching it. If yours does that, it is a known fault in the phone and not something you did to it.

Sure it is this one?

The X and the XS are the same 5.8 inch phone to look at, so Settings, General, About is the honest answer. There is one shortcut: Apple sold the X in silver and space grey only, so a gold phone of this shape is an XS rather than an X.

What we do buy

These are the phones we are paying for today whose screens are nearest the iPhone X's 5.8 inches, so if the size is what you liked about it, start at the top of this list.

If you sell us a different one

You can send any share of what we pay you, up to all of it, to a UK charity you choose. It is one question at the end of the form and it changes nothing else. How One Last Job works.
