Prices updated 6 October 2026.
iPhone 16e 128GB, Face ID failed, picture perfect: £127 against £140 working, 6 October 2026.
A cracked or broken iPhone 16e still sells. Cracked glass over a good screen is Picture fine; a bad LCD, with lines or blotches, or a replacement screen is Picture faulty. Face ID not working or a cracked back is allowed in both, though it has to switch on, and a iPhone 16e that won't charge cannot be bought.
The iPhone 16e went on sale in February 2025 with a 6.1 inch OLED screen, which makes it about a year old. On a phone this new the details set the price, so we ask about them before you post it rather than after it lands. Get your price in a minute and post it free.

Not sure which one is yours? Picture fine means the picture is perfect however the glass looks. Picture faulty means the display itself is faulty or has been replaced. Hidden faults, battery to Face ID, are accepted in both. Our three grades, explained properly.
Prices shown for 128 GB, the smallest this model came in. A working 512 GB pays £25 more.
What we know about the iPhone 16e
The 16e has a notch rather than the Dynamic Island, one rear camera rather than two, and Apple's own C1 modem rather than Qualcomm's. It is the odd one out of its generation in three separate ways.
It has no MagSafe magnets, so if a case or a car mount will not hold it, nothing has broken. That is how the phone was built.
Is this the phone you have?
6.1 inches, a notch across the top and a single rear camera, on a phone that charges over USB-C. The 16 beside it has two lenses and a Dynamic Island. The only other one camera iPhone of this era is the Air, which is 6.5 inches and far thinner.
If the screen has gone
The iPhone 16e has a 6.1 inch Super Retina XDR OLED. A broken one is not scrap. The board, the cameras and the battery are untouched, and the panel itself is a part another iPhone 16e needs.
With the picture still good, a cracked one runs 128 GB £127, 256 GB £159 and 512 GB £164. If the display itself is damaged rather than the glass over it, a 128 GB is £50.
Once the picture itself has gone, a 128 GB still holds 36 per cent, less than most of the phones we buy. What a broken iPhone 16e is worth has the rest of the arithmetic.
Exact price for your size
This model came in 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. Nothing changes between them but capacity: the same 6.1 inch screen, the same cameras and the same battery in all three.
Working, this model runs 128 GB £140, 256 GB £160 and 512 GB £165. For comparison, at 256 GB the iPhone 15 Pro Max pays £174 more and at 128 GB the iPhone 16 pays £140 more.
Why sell your iPhone 16e to ReMint?
An iPhone 16e has most of its life still in front of it and is priced here accordingly, with nobody standing between us and whoever ends up owning it.
Free tracked postage, checked within a working day, paid within 48 hours of it arriving, erased to recognised standards with the record kept.
Making a phone is where the damage is. Not using it. Which is why the greenest phone is one that already exists.
Selling this phone keeps roughly 36 kg of CO2e worth of manufacturing in use.
Where this figure comes from
Apple publishes a lifecycle footprint of 48 kg CO2e for a 128GB iPhone 16e, from mining the materials to recycling the phone. Apple states 74 per cent production. That share of 48 kg is 36 kg.
Keeping a working iPhone 16e going displaces the manufacture of a new one, so we quote the 36 kg rather than the whole 48 kg. Charging it, shipping it and recycling it happen either way.
It says roughly because it assumes your iPhone 16e replaces one that would otherwise have been built. Apple's 48 kg is for the 128GB model as published in February 2025, and a larger size carries a larger footprint.
For a sense of scale, that is the same quantity of CO2e as driving about 130 miles in an average car.
Apple, Product Environmental Report: iPhone 16e, February 2025. Mileage at 0.26915 kg CO2e per mile, UK Government conversion factors 2025.
Questions people ask before selling
What is an iPhone 16e worth right now?
The quote above answers it exactly, and two things move the number. Size counts here, so check yours in Settings, General, About. Then condition, and the glass and the picture count separately: cracked glass with a good picture underneath is our middle grade, and a fault in the picture itself is the bottom one. Ordering locks your price for 10 days.
What does my iPhone 16e need to do for you to buy it?
It has to switch on, charge, and work. Under 80% battery is priced as Picture fine. Works fine: no cracks, everything works, battery 80% or above. Picture fine: LCD is good, front or back glass can be smashed, and Face ID, a camera, sound or a button can be broken. Picture faulty: bad LCD, or an aftermarket screen, with the same faults allowed.
What counts as Works fine for an iPhone 16e?
Everything works, nothing is cracked and the battery reads 80 per cent or more. Your size's full price is at the head of this page.
What counts as Picture fine for an iPhone 16e?
A smashed iPhone 16e with a good LCD, the original screen and a perfect picture, or a crack free one whose battery is under 80 per cent. Face ID, a camera, a speaker or a button can be broken. It usually keeps most of the working price.
What counts as Picture faulty for an iPhone 16e?
A bad LCD (lines, blotches, blank patches, touch that does not respond) or an aftermarket replacement screen. Face ID, a camera, sound or a button can be broken too. It is the lowest of the three figures above.
My iPhone 16e has a cracked screen. Do I get next to nothing for it?
You will not, as long as the picture underneath is perfect and it is still the original screen. The glass and the picture are graded separately: cracked glass on its own is "picture fine", because the picture is what that word means to us, and a cracked iPhone 16e sits in our middle grade, not the scrap pile. The lower grade is for the picture itself being faulty, lines, blotches, blank patches, or a screen that ignores your finger, and for a non original replacement screen. A cracked back is graded exactly like a cracked front, so it does not drop you down either.
Does low battery health matter on an iPhone 16e?
Check Settings, Battery, but on a phone this new the answer is usually still 80 per cent or better, which leaves a crack free iPhone 16e in the Working grade. If yours has dipped below the line it counts as Picture fine instead, and you will see exactly what that pays before you commit to posting it.
Can I sell an iPhone 16e that is locked to a network?
You can: we buy network locked phones. Check the lock is really there first though, because it probably is not: selling locked handsets has been banned in the UK since December 2021, so phones from the iPhone 13 onwards, your iPhone 16e included, are nearly always unlocked already. If yours is locked, a fixed amount, shown in pounds before you commit to anything, comes off the quote. Or keep the whole price: ask your network to unlock it before you post it, which is free, usually done within a day or two, and something only the account holder can do, so we cannot do it for you. Not sure is still an honest answer in the quote flow; nothing comes off for it, and if the phone turns out to be locked we tell you before anything else happens.
Do I need to switch off Find My before selling my iPhone 16e?
It has to come off, because Find My is Apple's Activation Lock and nobody can wipe or resell a phone that still has it switched on. Do it in Settings before you post the iPhone 16e, or sign in at iCloud.com and remove the device afterwards. A phone that arrives locked is held for 14 days to give you time to sort it.
What if my iPhone 16e will not turn on?
No. We cannot check what is wrong with an iPhone 16e that will not power on, or erase it to a standard we can certify, so any price would be a guess we had to take back later. Your council's recycling centre and any Apple store take it free, which is the right home for a phone nobody can price.
How fast will I be paid for my iPhone 16e, and can the offer drop?
We check the iPhone 16e within one working day of it arriving and pay by bank transfer within 48 hours of it arriving. If the phone does not match your answers, you get a revised offer and the reason for it, never a silent deduction. Turn the revised offer down and the phone comes back to you free.
If you are still weighing it up
Three things people ask before selling a iPhone 16e, answered properly rather than in a sentence.
- How to check your iPhone storage size Open Settings, General, About and read the Capacity line. That is your storage size: 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB. It takes ten seconds.
- How much is my iPhone worth in 2026? The honest maths behind iPhone prices this year, model by model, and what moves them.
- Our three grades, explained properly Working, picture fine, picture faulty. Which one is yours, and why the difference is all about the display.
