The iPhone 15 Plus has a 6.7 inch Super Retina XDR OLED. That is a lot of glass. The panel is a part somebody wants and the rest of the phone still works.
With the picture still good, a cracked one runs 128 GB £170, 256 GB £190 and 512 GB £190. If the display itself is damaged rather than the glass over it, a 128 GB is £92.

Apple publishes a lifecycle footprint of 61 kg CO2e for a 128GB iPhone 15 Plus, from mining the materials to recycling the phone. Apple states 79 per cent production. That share of 61 kg is 48 kg.
Keeping a working iPhone 15 Plus going displaces the manufacture of a new one, so we quote the 48 kg rather than the whole 61 kg. Charging it, shipping it and recycling it happen either way.
It says roughly because it assumes your iPhone 15 Plus replaces one that would otherwise have been built. Apple's 61 kg is for the 128GB model as published in September 2023, and a larger size carries a larger footprint.

My iPhone 15 Plus has a cracked screen. Do I get next to nothing for it?
No, and this is the thing we do differently. Your phone has two layers: the glass on top, and the picture underneath it. If the glass is cracked but the picture is still perfect, we call that "picture fine", because the part that shows you things is fine. That is our middle grade, not our bottom one, and a cracked iPhone 15 Plus with a perfect picture prices there. The bottom grade is for a fault in the picture itself: lines, blotches, blank patches, touch that does not respond, or a screen somebody has already replaced with a non original part. Does low battery health matter on an iPhone 15 Plus?
It decides the grade, so check Settings, Battery before you answer the quote questions. At 80 per cent or above, with no cracks or faults, your iPhone 15 Plus is Working grade. Below 80 per cent it counts as Picture fine, which is a real price rather than a penalty, and the number is on your screen before you post the phone.
Can I sell an iPhone 15 Plus that is locked to a network?
Yes, though odds are you do not need to worry at all: UK networks were banned from selling locked handsets in December 2021, so an iPhone 15 Plus bought new here, like nearly every phone from the iPhone 13 onwards, is almost certainly unlocked already. If yours really is locked we still buy it, and a fixed amount, shown in pounds before you commit to anything, comes off the quote, which is what a locked phone costs us to deal with. Do I need to switch off Find My before selling my iPhone 15 Plus?
Yes. Find My is Apple's Activation Lock, and a phone still carrying it cannot be erased or resold, so it must be off before we can pay you. Switch it off in Settings on the iPhone 15 Plus, or from iCloud.com after it has gone in the post. If it arrives still locked we hold it for 14 days so you can remove the lock, rather than sending it straight back.

No. We cannot check what is wrong with an iPhone 15 Plus that will not power on, or erase it to a standard we can certify, so any price would be a guess we had to take back later. Your council's recycling centre and any Apple store take it free, which is the right home for a phone nobody can price.
