Sell your broken
iPhone SE (2020).
A 64 GB with a faulty display is £5, which is 63 per cent of what we pay for the same phone in one piece. Not a fortune, and we will not dress it up as one. It is real money for a phone most places refuse to quote on at all once you say the screen has gone.

What the damage costs you
Three figures, and the gaps between them are the point. £8 if it is perfect. £7 once the front glass has gone but the display under it still draws a clean image, a drop of £1. £5 once the image itself is wrong, which is £3 off the top. The crack costs something, and a faulty picture costs a good deal more, so it is worth knowing which you have.
Those are 64 GB prices, the bottom of this model's range, so a larger one is worth more rather than less. On an LCD a bad one usually announces itself: white patches, a washed out area, or backlight bleeding at an edge. When it is genuinely a toss up, choose the lower grade and let the bench correct it upwards. Our three grades, explained properly.
Where the iPhone SE (2020) sits
That makes the iPhone SE (2020) one of the better ones on this site. Of the 32 models with a page like this one, 4 hold a larger share and 25 hold less.
Across the 32 iPhones we buy and can price broken, the ones worth under £50 working keep about 41 per cent of that price with the picture gone, and the ones worth £120 or more keep about 57 per cent. It is the value of the phone that decides it, not the kind of screen in it.
The screen is the part that meets the floor and very little else does. On an iPhone SE (2020) the board, the cameras and the battery are almost always fine afterwards, and since they are most of the value of the phone, most of the value survives.
Worth knowing before you send it
It is a small phone with a small battery, and small batteries wear out sooner because they are charged more often.
Touch ID is the thing to prove on this phone, and all of it lives in the Home button. Apple covered its sensor with sapphire crystal and put a steel ring around it to detect your finger, so if a crack runs down to the bottom of the glass, look closely at that ring. Unlock with an enrolled finger several times. The button is solid state and never moves: the click you feel is haptic, and under Settings, Accessibility, Home Button you can pick a different feel and press to try it, which shows the haptics still answer. Then rest it on a Qi charger to prove the wireless coil. To be sure it is the 2020 SE and not the 2022 one, slide out the tray on the right hand side and read the slot under strong light: a British one says A2296 on its upper face.
Sure it is this one?
It is an iPhone 8 to look at: 4.7 inches, a home button with Touch ID, one camera on the back. The SE (2022) is the same again, so looking will not settle it. Settings, General, About calls this one iPhone SE (2nd generation).
Every size, broken
Picture gone, this model runs 64 GB £5, 128 GB £5 and 256 GB £5.
Cracked with the picture good, 64 GB £7, 128 GB £8 and 256 GB £8.
The iPhone SE (2020) in one paragraph
It uses the iPhone 8 body, screen and home button, which is a genuine advantage when it is broken: those parts are everywhere and cost very little, so a smashed SE (2020) is worth having.
What happens to a broken one here
Most of these are now donors rather than patients, which is a useful end rather than a sad one. The parts inside an iPhone SE (2020) fit a long list of phones people are still carrying, so they leave here inside somebody else's repair.
Free tracked postage, checked within a working day, paid within 48 hours of it arriving, and erased to recognised standards with the record kept.
Questions about broken phones, from wiping one you cannot unlock to what happens if we disagree with your grade, are answered on the broken iPhone page. The whole of this model, working or not, is on the iPhone SE (2020) page. Still deciding? How to check your iPhone storage size.

The share beside each name is what that model keeps. Notice how little the panel has to do with the order.
